Samsung 46inch 3D TV - UE46D7000
WOW, what a purchase! Just replaced our 1st generation Sony Bravia KDLV32A10 32 inch LCD TV - of nearly 6 years with a 46 inch 3D TV.
For the first time ever, we have gone for a different brand (not a Sony) - as I felt the picture quality on the Samsung was much superior. I tested all the latest designs, picture quality, 3D quality at the local John Lewis and Costco (Watford) and found the Samsung and Panasonic to be the best.
The few reasons why we went for the Samsung over the Panasonic - 1) colour - much superior on the LED than the plasma, 2) aesthetics and design of the TV, specially the bezel which is a few mm wide, and 3) plasma feels like yesterdays technology (personal opinion).
The thin bezel makes the entire TV look so much smaller in comparison to the 32inch Sony that it feels more like 40 inch tv.
Normal 2D TV in HD is just stunning. Pictures are bright and crisp and I can definitely see better contrast levels than most LEDs I have seen available in the market. The SMART hub function on the D7000/8000 series is definitely a lot easier to use and better organised as compared to the C7000/8000 series. I have tried browsing the normal internet, with the help of the Samsung app on my iphone which allows me to type with great ease, and its as good as it can get.
The 3D TV viewing is fantastic! I did not realise it would be this good. I have tested a few 3D movies and documentaries - I am well impressed. I have also quite enjoyed 2D to 3D conversion of live football.
